He's Not That Complicated - How to Crack a Man's Romantic Code to get the Relationship You Want by Eric Charles and Sabrina Alexis

Over the holidays, I've subscribed to this blog that gives advices on dating, relationships and men. The tips given there has broadened my mind into the ways of men - how they think and act and it has made my relationship with myself and with the men in my life much, MUCH better. It has helped me overcome some of my neuroses (like neediness and paranoia) and it has helped me become more confident in general. Because I loved the advices being given to me via email (I get one each morning ever since I subscribed to their blog), I ended up buying some of their books. One of which is entitled He's Not That Complicated - How to Crack a Man's Romantic Code to get the Relationship You Want by Eric Charles and Sabrina Alexis.

Here is its table of contents:

Read More Books - a 2012 Resolution

Time and again, I kept saying that I have amassed a ton of books, too many for a busy person to read. This year, I promise to set aside an hour a day at the most to sit, relax and bury myself in the amazing stories that have remained  in my bookshelf.

I'll also be giving away books, both old and new, so I can share with my fellow bookworms the amazing journeys I have traveled through the pages of what I read.

Cheers to a more inspired, well-read and bookish me this new year!

Reader's Digest Oct 2011 Cracked Me Up! (Plus a Giveaway!)

 *This was originally published at

My Reader's Digest for October 2011 is here!!!

I wasn't feeling all too well today. I was groggy and I feel like my heart is going to give up soon. I blame it on staying awake for long periods at time and forgetting to sleep. So I I had to forego that Tapella dinner and just let Peter go to that wonderful food tasting event in Greenbelt 5. Anyway, when I woke up early this evening, I was greeted, not just by my husband who came home bringing food from Tapella, but I also got my Reader's Digest October 2011 Edition in the mail.

Something Borrowed is the first book of Emily Giffin I've ever read. I remember one afternoon, I was shopping with Peter when we dropped by Powerbooks at Festival Mall because there was a sale. As usual, I looked at the section of my favorite authors (Nicholas Sparks, Sophie Kinsella, Danielle Steel to name a few) just to see if there's anything new. Then  Peter noticed this movie trailer being shown on their wall TV. The title of the movie is Something Borrowed. I didn't give it much attention until Peter pointed it out to me. The usual storyteller that he is, he gave me a synopsis of what the movie was about and lo and behold I was intrigued. He said it's actually based on a book so I immediately looked for it (it was just right there on the bestseller stand) and purchased a copy (Months later, I watched the film and it was awesome as well!)

Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

I love Sophie Kinsella. Hence, the moment I found out about her newest creation, I headed to the bookstore and bought it. That was ages ago. I am sad to say that I only got to finish reading it a few days ago and that I didn't like this book that much. True, it's still about Becky Bloomwood and her unending battle with her shopaholic disease, but then that's it. I thought that this time around, it would be more about her little 2 year old daughter, Minnie. Maybe I expected wrong. But what can I say, I really thought there would be less Becky and more Minnie.
